Our camps focus on Athletic, technical, tactical, and cognitive skills.
Winter Break Camp
Direction Hockey will be running a half-day Winter Break Camp. The camp will include 3 hrs of on ice training per day.
This camp will take place over 4 days, between January 2nd and 5th (Details Below).
The camp will be geared toward 2010-2014 players.
Each session will focus on advanced technical skill development in a high pace environment.Each session will have a 5:1 player-to-instructor ratio.
Over the span of the 4 sessions, we will work through the following skills and progressions:
Skating and Edge control
Body contact and body control
All aspects of passing
Situational decision making
Speed change
Body position/ puck protection
Shooting / In-stride, off pass, out of turns
Deception
Creating space
Agility, Balance, endurance
The focus will be on these development areas and making the tactical connection to allow players to understand the implementation of the skills they acquire.

Body Contact Camp
Direction Hockey will be running a 1-week high-intensity camp that will focus on the fundamentals of body contact and body utilization in July. This clinic will provide each participant with the necessary knowledge to implement their skill sets in-game action. This clinic will push each individual out of their comfort zone to reach new heights in the development process. All in preparation for the upcoming season.
The age limit for this camp will be players born between 2008-2010.
The lead instructor for the camp will be me, Nathaniel Brooks, along with DH instructors. It will have a 1:5 instructor/player ratio.
During the week we will work through the following skills and progressions:
Body Contact
Initiating contact
Taking contact
Puck protection/handling
Shooting under pressure
Defending
Creating offense
Angling
Tactical advantages
Game situation decision making
The focus will be on these development areas and making the tactical connection to allow players to understand the implementation of the skills they acquire.
